Basis
Synopsis
Hairspray follows the exuberant Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, as she pursues her dream of performing on a popular teen dance show. Her passion for dancing catapults her to fame, and she uses her new platform to advocate for racial integration on the show, challenging the norms of the era.
