Synopsis

In Agatha Christie’s masterful mystery, a group of strangers find themselves trapped in a British guesthouse during a snowstorm, only to learn that one among them is a murderer. As the guests get to know each other, secrets emerge and alibis weaken, making everyone a suspect. It’s a race against time to identify the killer before they strike again. The Mousetrap holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running play and promises an evening of edge-of-your-seat suspense.

Production Notes

Director Peggy Strickland’s notes:
What a delightful dilemma to be stranded in a major snowstorm in August with eight extremely talented actors and a fabulous crew as we seek to solve Agatha Christie’s murder mystery that has been entertaining London audiences since 1952 with only a slight pause during COVID. Agatha Christie wrote 66 novels during her prolific career and has been credited by Guinness World Records as the best-selling fiction writer of all time, her novels having sold more than two billion copies. Her intriguing characters, plot twists, red herrings, and creativity remain as fresh today as when they were first published. At one point in the play one of the characters says, “The killer’s enjoying this. Yes, he’s enjoying himself a good deal…” We hope you as audience members enjoy this mystery as well. It is a pleasure for me to be part of this collaborative effort at ACT bringing a bit of West End theatre history to life on our stage.
