Synopsis
Spring Awakening delves into the lives of teenagers navigating the treacherous waters of sexuality, identity, and rebellion in a repressive late 19th-century German town. The musical combines a rock score with a historic setting, bringing an electric, contemporary edge to the struggles and exhilaration of coming of age. Through the eyes of characters like Melchior, Wendla and Moritz, the story uncovers the cost of ignorance and oppression and the necessity of personal awakening in a world unwilling to accept change.
