Synopsis

In For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls, Christopher Durang flips the script on Tennessee Williams’ classic, The Glass Menagerie. In this laugh-out-loud parody, the story revolves around Lawrence, a hypochondriac who collects glass cocktail stirrers instead of figurines. His overbearing mother, Amanda, is desperate to marry him off, even if the suitors are less than ideal. As the characters engage in ridiculous antics, the play lampoons the quintessential Southern drama, leaving no stereotype unskewered.
