Synopsis

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club follows the lives of five diverse Southern women who met years ago on their college swim team. Every August, they set aside a long weekend to recharge and reconnect at a beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Over three decades, these weekends become a repository of shared experiences: marriages, divorces, childbirths and life’s inevitable challenges. Through laughter and tears, the play beautifully explores the strength of friendship that deepens with time, demonstrating how these annual gatherings become essential touchstones in each woman’s life.

Production Notes

“Five Southern women, who met years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge their friendships. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage, the Sweet Delilah on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. This touching play focuses on four of those weekends spanning a period of thirty-three years. When fate throws a wrench into one of their lives, they rally ‘round with the strength and love that takes this comedy in a poignant and surprising direction.” - ON STAGE - theatre-jacksonville
