Subject
The uncertain future promised by the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s

Synopsis

In 1969, inside a small diner in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, the regulars and the owner grapple with the impact of urban renewal on their community and lives. Each character faces distinct personal battles, from reclaiming an inheritance to maintaining dignity in times of societal upheaval. As they navigate their day-to-day struggles, the diner becomes a microcosm of the larger civil rights movement, reflecting broader themes of justice, equality, and the pursuit of the American Dream within the African American community.
