Elizabeth "Brooks" Nettum

Elizabeth “Brooks” Nettum was a stalwart figure in Georgia’s theatre community, renowned for her deep commitment and significant contributions to the arts. Born in Columbus, Georgia, Brooks spent much of her life in Americus before relocating to St. Marys in her later years where she immediately became involved with the St. Marys Little Theatre. A graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University with degrees in English and Social Administration, Brooks found her true passion in the performing arts.
Throughout her career, Brooks was instrumental in shaping the local theatre scene. As the managing director for the Rylander Theatre and a dynamic member of the Sumter Players, she left an indelible mark on the community. Brooks was involved in over 30 theatrical productions, including notable plays such as Oliver!, Annie, Cotton Patch Gospel, The King and I, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Her leadership helped bring significant events to Americus, including the Georgia Theater Conference and the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
